On January 12, 2026, Ronald McDonald House Albany proudly opened its second Family Room within the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center.
The Ronald McDonald House Family Room within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) brings comfort, care, and compassion directly to families just steps away from their child’s bedside. Thoughtfully designed to give parents and families a welcoming place to rest and recharge, this peaceful environment offers a moment of calm during an otherwise overwhelming time. Families receive nutritious meals, personal care items, comfort, and support—absolutely free of charge.

Already Making an Impact
Since opening, the Ronald McDonald House Family Room within the NICU has welcomed over 1,400 guests with a restful place to pause, take a breath, and feel supported during long and emotionally demanding days. In addition, 168 HOPE tote bags—filled with comfort items and practical essentials—have been distributed to parents, offering a small but meaningful reminder that they are not alone.
