Conveniently located less than 0.5 miles from the Capital Region’s only children’s hospital and Level IV NICU at Albany Medical Center, the Albany Ronald McDonald House offers a home away from home — completely free of charge — for families whose children are critically ill or injured. Run by caring staff and volunteers, and supported entirely by generous donors, “The House That Love Built” is much more than a comfortable place to sleep. With home-cooked meals and a community of support, it’s a place for families to stay strong.
In addition to their private accommodations, guests at the Ronald McDonald House have full access to an array of common areas including kitchens, living rooms, playrooms, dining rooms, laundry rooms, remote work space and an outdoor playground.
The Albany Ronald McDonald House is located at 139 S. Lake Avenue, Albany, NY 12208. The House is walking distance to Albany Medical Center, and shuttle service is available to and from the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital 24 hours a day. Other nearby hospitals and medical facilities including St. Peter’s Hospital and St. Margaret’s Center are a short drive away.
Registered guests can park in one of two private parking lots, accessible via Mercer Street (behind the green building on the corner of Mercer and S. Lake) and S. Lake Avenue (using the driveway between the red and white buildings on S. Lake).
