Five years ago, the Ronald McDonald House Family Retreat at Krantz Cottage opened its doors to give families experiencing serious childhood illness something they rarely have time for: rest, reconnection, and healing—together. As we celebrate this milestone, we reflect on the many moments of peace, laughter, and renewal that have taken place there.

A Place to Breathe Again

The Ronald McDonald House Family Retreat at Krantz Cottage offers families with seriously ill children something profoundly simple and meaningful: time away to just be a family. Since opening in 2021, families have been welcomed with:

      • A restorative stay in a beautiful natural setting

      • Time to reconnect outside of hospital walls

      • Space to rest, reflect, and begin healing—both physically and emotionally

Many families share that this week of respite is the first time they’ve truly exhaled since diagnosis—a reminder that joy and hope still have room to grow.

    Made Possible by You

The Ronald McDonald House Family Retreat at Krantz Cottage exists because of the generosity of people like you. Thanks to your support, families can step away, reconnect, and create meaningful memories—at no cost to them.

As we mark five years, we are excited to share that thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, all gifts made to the Ronald McDonald House Family Retreat at Krantz Cottage now through August 31, 2026, will be matched up to $20,000!
